Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi hosts from Tuesday March 15 until Thursday March 17, the Plenary Assembly of Bishops members of the Association of Conferences of Ordinaries of Rwanda and Burundi, ACOREB.
This Plenary Assembly of ACOREB which takes place at the National Intercultural Center "Oasis de Paix et Réconciliation" (CINOPR), located in Bujumbura, was convened by Mgr. Joachim NTAHONDEREYE, Bishop of Muyinga and President of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Burundi , CECAB.
It is expected that these Ordinaries of the two countries that speak sister languages exchange on the socio-ecclesial situations of their Churches and share the experiences of the Synodal Process in their particular Churches : challenges to take up and opportunities.
Created on June 6, 1981, ACOREB brings together the Catholic Bishops of Rwanda and Burundi. Its purpose is to promote at all levels the exchange of studies and experiences with a view to achieving broader ecclesial consultation at the level of the two Episcopal Conferences, that is to say the Episcopal Conference of Rwanda (CEPR ) and the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Burundi (CECAB).
